On April 4th, 2019 the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) made changes to their in-demand occupation list by adding 11 new occupations and removing 10 old occupations. This list is used for those applying under the International Skilled Worker: Occupations in Demand and International Skilled Worker: Saskatchewan Express Entry programs.
The National Occupational Classification Codes which were added are as follows:
0423 – Managers in social and community services
1226 – Conference and event planners
1311 – Accounting technicians
2174 – Computer Programmers and interactive media developers
2251 – Architectural technologists and technicians
2255 – Technical occupations in geomatics and meteorology
4215 – Instructors of persons with disabilities
5254 – Program leaders and instructors in recreation, sport and fitness
6332 – Bakers
6342 – Tailors, dressmakers, furriers and milliners
7332 – Appliance servicers and repairers
The National Occupational Classification Codes which were removed are as follows:
3111 – Psychiatrists
2123 – Agricultural representatives, consultants and specialists
7201 – Contractors and supervisors, machining, metal forming, shaping and erecting trades and related occupations
7204 – Contractors and supervisors, carpentry trades
7311 – Industrial mechanics
7237 – Welders
7384 – Recreation vehicle Service
0822 – Managers in horticulture
8252 – Agriculture service contractors, farm supervisors and specialized livestock workers
0821 Managers in agriculture
For those who have worked in one of the above fields, they may be able to apply for a Provincial nomination if they can meet the points requirements of the International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid or have a valid Express Entry Profile. Depending on the National Occupational Classification Code you are applying under, you may need to meet other specific requirements such as educational requirements or provincial licensing.
