Saskatchewan Re-Opens Provincial Express Entry Sub-Category

On May 17th, 2016,  Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program announced on their website that they have re-opened the International Skilled Worker – Saskatchewan Express Entry category for an additional 500 applications.

This Provincial Program is for those who are already in the Express Entry Pool and meet the following criteria: 

  • Score a minimum of 60 points out of 100 on the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program point assessment grid
  • Have a valid language test result
  • Have completed post-secondary education, training or apprenticeship that’s comparable to the Canadian education system of at least one year in length
  • Have at least one of the following in your field of education or training occupation:
    • One year work experience in the past 10 years in a skilled profession (non-trades applicants);
    • Two years work experience in a skilled trade in the past five years; or
    • Twelve months work experience in Canada in the past three years (trades and non-trades).
  • If your occupation is regulated in Saskatchewan, you need to show  proof of eligibility for Saskatchewan licensure
  • Proof of the required settlement funds for your family size
  • Be able to show why you would like to immigrate to Saskatchewan

Your work experience is in one of the following occupations:

  1. Computer and information systems managers
  2. Managers in social, community and correctional services
  3. Recreation, sports and fitness program and service directors
  4. Facility operation and maintenance managers
  5. Managers in agriculture
  6. Property administrators
  7. Purchasing agents and officers
  8. Health information management occupations
  9. Mathematicians, statisticians and actuaries
  10. Information systems analysts and consultants
  11. Biological technologists and technicians
  12. Landscape and horticulture technicians and specialists
  13. Civil engineering technologists and technicians
  14. Mechanical engineering technologists and technicians
  15. Aircraft instrument, electrical and avionics mechanics, technicians and inspectors N
  16. Drafting technologists and technicians
  17. Technical occupations in geomantic and meteorology
  18. Gas fitters
  19. Heavy-duty equipment mechanics
  20. Automotive service technicians, truck and bus mechanics and mechanical repairers
  21. Appliance servicers and repairers
